Display Screen Equipment (DSE) is your computer workstation and includes your chair, your desk, your computer and the accessories on your desk. If these are not set up properly to suit each individual, there are some possible ill-health effects which may affect them, such as visual discomfort, i.e. eye fatigue and headaches, stress - mental and physical, and also Work Related Upper Limb disorders (WRULDs), i.e. aches and pains in the back, shoulder, neck and wrist.
The DSE course is designed to make both the employer and the employee more aware of the elements of bad workplace ergonomics and to ensure that every possible measure is met to ensure a more comfortable and enjoyable work station.
